How many `AM` broadcast stations can be accommodated in a `100 KHZ` bandwidth if the highest modulating frequency of carrier is `5 kHZ`?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Any solution being modulated by a `5kHz` singal will produce an upper side frequency `5kHz` above its carrier and a lower side frequency `5kHz` below its carrier, therby requiring a bandwidth of `10kHz`.
Thus, Number of stations accommidated
`("Total bandwidth")/("Bandwidth per station")=(100)/(10)=10`
