Salts of oxoacids are called oxosalts. Oxoacids are those in which the acidic proton is on a hydroxyI group with an oxo group (=O) attached to the central atom. For example,
Alkali metals are highly electropositive and, thus, they form very strong bases in the form of hydroxides. They also form salts with all the oxoacids which are generally soluble in water and thermally stable.
