Such type of phenomeon is only exhibited by liquids crystals. Liquids -crystal displays (LCD's) are common in calculators and wrist watches . Liquids crystals ,which are the basic of these displays ,generally consists of rod like molecules in a phase that is intermediciate in order between a liquid and a crystallise solid.
