Since the bonds to the chiral `C` are not disturbed, its configuration is unchanged. It is important to note that the `R//S` designation may change if there is a change in the order of priorities of the ligands. Occassionally chirality may disappear.
(i) If the reaction makes two identical ligands at the formerly chiral `C`, the product is achiral.
