These questions consist two statements each, printed as Assertion and reason, while answering these question you are required to choose any one of the following four responsis: (a) If both the assertion and reason are true and reason is a true explanation of the assertion. (b) If both the assertion and reason are true but the reason is not the correct explanation of assertion. (c ) If the assertion is true but reason is false. (d) If both the assertion and reason are false. Q. Assertion: Smaller drops of liquid resist deforming forces better than the larger drops. Reason: Excess pressure inside a drop is directly proportional to its surface area.

Assertion: A tiny drops of liquid resist deforming forces better than bigger drops Reason:Excess pressure inside a drop is directly proportional to the Surface tension.

Derive an expression for excess pressure inside a drop of liquid.

Small droplets of liquid are usually more spherical in shape than larger drops of the same liquid because

Small droplets of a liquid are usually more spherical in shape than larger drops of the same liquid because

Statement-1: Two identical conincal pipes shown in figure have a drop of water. The water drop tens to move towards tapered end. Statement-2: Excess pressure is directed towards centre of curvature and inversely proportional to radius of curvature. Net excess pressure is therefore, directed towards tapered end. So the water drop tends to move towards tapered end.

Statement I: Droplets of liquid are usually more spherical in shape than large drops of the same liquid. Statement II: Force of surface tension predominates force of gravity in case of small drops.
