A current from A to B is increasing in magnitude. What is the direction of induced current. If any,in the loop as shown in the figure?

A

No current in induced

B

Clockwise current

C

Anti-clockwise current

D

Alternating current

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

Magnetic flux through the loop is upwards and is increasing due to increasing current along AB. Current induced in the loop should have magnetic flux in the downward direction so at to oppose the increase in flux. Therefore, current induced in the loop is clockwise.
