How much mutual inductance will be produced (in joule) if the change in magnetic flux in any coil Y due to current of 4 A in any associated coil X is given by 0.4 Wb?

A

0.2 H

B

0.4 H

C

0.6 H

D

0.1 H

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
D

We know that the magnetic flux associated with coil Y is directly proportional to current flowing in X coil, i.e. `phi_(Y)prop I_(X)`
Here, `phi_(Y)`=change in magnetic flux in coil X
M=Mutual inductance
`implies phi_(Y)=MI_(X)` . . . (i)
Given, `I_(X)=4A,phi_(Y)=0.3Wb`
Then from Eq. (i), we et `0.4=Mxx4impliesM=(0.4)/(4)=0.1J`
