A current carrying loop is placed in a uniform magnetic field. The torque acting on it does not depend upon

A

area of loop

B

no. of turns in loop

C

shape of loop

D

strength of current and magnetic field

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The torque acting on a current carrying loop kept in a uniform magnetic field of induction B is given by
`tau =nIAB sin theta`
It depends upon n, I, A, B and `theta.` But it does not depend upon the shape of the loop (reactangular, circular, triangular, etc.)
