A particle moves in a straight line as s...

A particle moves in a straight line as `s =alpha(t-4)+beta(t-4)^(2)`. Find the initial velocity and acceleration.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`s=alpha(t-4)+beta(t-4)^(2)`
`=alpha(t-4)+beta(t^(2)-8t+16)`
`v=(ds)/(dt)=alpha(1-0)+beta(2t-8)`
`a=(dv)/(dt)=beta(2.1)=2beta`
At `t=0, v=alpha-8beta`
`a=2beta`
