In the previous problem , if separation ...

In the previous problem , if separation between strings is `x` in equilibrium and angle between strings is small , find `q`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`q = [ 16 pi in_(0) mgl^(2) sin^(2) theta tan theta]^(1//2)`
Since `theta` is small , `sin theta = tan theta = (x//2)/(l) = (x)/(2l)`
`[ 16 pi in_(0) mgl^(2) (x^(3))/( 8l^(3))]^(1//2)`
`= sqrt((2 pi in_(0) mg)/(l)) x^(3//2)`
