Find the distance of final image from mirror.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

(a) Shift by glass slab `=6(1-(1)/(3//2))=2cm`
The mirror will be shifted towards slab by `2cm`

Distance of object from virtual mirror `=18cm`
Image of O is formed at distance `18cm` behind the virtual mirror `M^'M_0^'`.
Distance of image from real mirror `MM_0=18-2=16cm`.
(b)
Same answer as in (a).
The distance of image from mirror is independent of separation between slab and mirror.

The convex lens of a thin plano-convex lens (mu=1.5) with R=60cm is silvered to obtain a concave mirror. An object is located at a distance 25 cm in front of this mirror, find the distance of the image from mirror.

An object is placed on the principle axis of a concave mirror of focal length 10cm at a distance of 21cm from it. A glass slab is placed between the mirror and the object as shown in figure. Find the distance of final image formed by the mirror.

The figure shows two parallel plane mirrors placed 10cm apart. An object O is placed 7cm from mirror M_1 . Then the distance of final image formed from mirror M_1 is:

Radius of curvature of each mirror is R. 'O' is object. Consider first reflection from concave mirror. Consider only first three reflection. The distance of final image from convex mirror is
