A vessel having perfectly reflecting plane botton is filled with water `(mu=4//3)` to depth d. A point source of light is placed at a height h above the surface of water. Find the distance of final image from water surface.

Shift `=d(1-1//mu)`
Mirror will be shifted towards object by `d(1-1//mu)`
Distance of object from virtual mirror
`M^'M_0^'=(h+d)-d(1-1//mu)=h+d/mu`
Distance of image I from virtual mirror `=h+d//mu`
Distance of I from real mirror
`MM_0=h+d/mu-d(1-1//mu)`
`=h-d+(2d)/(mu)`
Distance from final image from surface of water
`=(h-d+(2d)/(mu))+d`
`=h+(2d)/(mu)=h+(2d)/(4//3)`
`=h+(3d)/(2)`
