Magnetic field produced by current carry...

Magnetic field produced by current carrying coil depends upon the number of turns in the coil.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

i. The magnetic field produced by current carrying coil depends upon magnitude of current flowing in the coil.
ii. For a given coil, the current in each turn flows along same direction.
iii. As a result, magnetic field produced by each turn has same direction and it adds up to give resultant magnetic field.
iv. Thus, if a coil has 'n' turns magnetic field produced by it is 'n' times greater than that produced by a single turn.
Hence, magnetic field produced by current carrying coil depends upon the number of turns in the coil.
