The rate of a gaseous reaction is halved...

The rate of a gaseous reaction is halved when the volume of the vessel is doubled. What is the order of reaction ?

Suppose the reaction is :
`Ato" Products, and oredr of reaction is n. Then"`
Rate `=k[A]^(n)" or r = k "a^(n)" "…(i)`
When volume of vessel is doubled, molar concentration is halved. As rate becomes, half, therefore,
`(r)/(2)=k((a)/(2))^(n)" "...(ii)`
Dividing (i) by (ii), we get `2=2^(n)" or "n=1`
