Why boiling of an egg or cooking of rice in an open vessel takes more time at a hill station ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

At a hill station, due to higher altitude, atmosphric pressure is low. Hence, water boils at a lower temperature. At a lower temperature, the rate of reaction decreases. Hence, it takes longer time.
