For a 1st order reaction, `k=(2.303)/(t)log""(a)/(a-x)`
In terms of pressures, `apropP_(0)` (initial pressure)
`a-xprop("pressure of "N_(2)O_(5)" at time t") `
`:.k=(2.303)/(t)log""(P_(0))/(P)" or "(kt)/(2.303)=logP_(0)-logP" or "logP=(kt)/(2.303)+logP_(0)`
Thus, plot of log P vs. t will be linear if the reaction is of 1st order. Further, form the straight line plot, slope `=(kt)/(2.303)` and intercept on log P axis = log `P_(0)`. Thus, rate constant k and initial pressure `P_(0)` can be found.
