Why HCOOH does not give HVZ reaction but `CH_(3)COOH` does ?

`CH_(3)COOH` contains `alpha`-hydrogens and hence gives HVZ reaction but HCOOH does not contain an `alpha`-hydrogen and hence does not give HVZ reaction.
