The constituents of nucleic acids (ribose or deoxyribose , sugar , purine or pyrimidine base and phosphoric acid) are joined through covalent linkage whereeas DNA consists of two strands, RNA has a single strand. The two strands of DNA are linked together through hydrogen bonds.
