Fluorine reacts with ice and results in ...

Fluorine reacts with ice and results in the change:
`H_(2)O(s)+F_(2)(g) rarr HF(g)+HOF(g)`
Justify that this reaction is a redox reaction.

Writing the O.N of reach atom aboe its symbol we have `H_(2)+F_(2)(g)rarrHF (g)+HOF` here the O.N of F decreases form 0 in `F_(2)` to -1 in HF and increases form 0 in `F_(2)` to +1 in HOF therefore `F_(2)` is both reduced as well as oxidised thus it is redox and more specifically it is a disproportionation reaction
