Industries cause rise as well as fall in the temperature of biosphere. Explain.

Industries add `CO_(2)` and particulate matter to the air. The `CO_(2)` acts as a greenhouse gas and increases air temperature, whereas the particulate matter decreases amount of sunlight reaching the earth and this reduces earth's temperature.
