Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Anhydrobiosis ("life without water"), also called cryptobiosis ("hidden life") is an adaptation of certain animals to lose almost all their body water and survive in a dormant state when their habitat dries up. Example: tardigrades (water bears). Tiny (under 0.5 mm. long) invertebrates that live in water firms surrounding leaves of terrestrial mosses or sand grains, can survive in an inactive form for a decade or more.
