What will you observe in a transverse section of a trunk to estimate the age of the tree ?

Age of a tree is estimated by counting the annual rings in the transverse section of its trunk . An annual ring consists of two kinds of woods sprig wood (early wood ) and autumn wood (late wood ) tat appear as altnating concentric rings.
