Dark reactions are called biosynthetic phase of photosynthesis.
Reason: Dark reactions do not directly depend on the presence of light but are dependent on the products of the light reaction, i.e., ATP and NADPH.

The correct Answer is:
B

Photosythesis occurs in two phases: Photochemical and biosynthetic. Photochemical phase is also called light or hill reaction. Biosynthetic phase is also called as dark or Blackman's reaction. Dark reaction catalyses assimilation of `CO_(2)` to carbohydrates. They occur in stroma or matrix of chlorplasts. These reactions do not require light directly but depend on assimilatory power (AtP and NADPH) produced during light reaction.
