During CO(2) transport, HCO(3)^(-) diffu...

During `CO_(2)` transport, `HCO_(3)^(-)` diffuses from erythrocytes to plasma and in turn upsets the ionic balance momentraily. In order to keep the ionic balance, an equal number of `Cl^(-)` pass into the erythrocyes from plasma. The process is known as

A

Hamburger phenomenon

B

bicarbonate shift

C

carbonation

D

Bohr's effect.

The correct Answer is:
A

About `70%` of `CO_(2)` is converted to bicarbonate ions `(HCO_(3)^(-))` and tranported in plasma. `CO_(2)` diffuse into RBCs. Combines with water and forms carbonic acid `(H_(2)CO_(3))`. `H_(2)CO_(3)` being unstable quickly dissociates into `H^(+)` and `HCO_(3)`. `HCO_(3)` ios are quite diffusible. Therefore, `HCO_(3)^(-)` diffuses from RBCs into the plasma. To maintain the ionic balance `Ci^(-)` diffuses from RBCs from the plasma into the RBCs. the exchange is called chloride shift or Hamburger's phenomenon.

Assertion :- The blood transports carbondioxide comparatively easily. Reason :- During CO_(2) transport chloride ions diffuse from plasma into the erythrocytes to maintain the ionic balance.

Which of the following statements are true/false A.The blood transports CO_(2) comparatively easily because of its higher solubility B.Approximately 8.9% of CO_(2) is transported being dissovled in the plasma of blood C. The carbon dioxide produced by the tissues, diffuses passively into the blood stream and passes into red blood corpsucles and react with water to form H_(2)CO_(3) D.The chlorde ions diffuse from palsma into the erythrocytes to maintain ionic balance

Abu is Aladdin's pet monkey and above all is his best friend. On their way to find the lamp and were passing over a Lava lake through a wooden bridge. Abu, mischievous as always started jumping on the bridge side-ropes and suddenly his foot slips and he landed onto a 5xx5 square matrix B floating on the lava. In order to keep his balance, Abu transforms the given matrix to another matrix A using an operation T: Choose any two neighbouring numbers and add the same integer (x) to them. If matrix B is transformed from matrix A, find the number x? [Note: Two squares are neighbours if they have a common boundary.]
