10 cubic metres clay is uniformly spread on a land of area 10 ares. The rise in the level of the ground is (a) 1 cm      (b)  10 cm            (c)  100 cm      (d)  1000 cm

Text Solution

Rise in level= `(Volume of clay/Area of land)`
Given that Volume of clay= `10m^3`
Area of land=`10` acres
As, we know that `1 acres = 100 m^2`
`therefore` rise in land= `10/1000`=`0.01m`=`1cm`
Hence, option (a) is correct.
