The circumference of the base of a 10m high conical tent is 44 metres. Calculate the length of canvas used in making the tent if width of canvas is 2m. `(U s epi=(22)/7)`

Text Solution

The circumference of the base of conical tent `=44m`
or, `2pir=44m`
`r=7m`
also given `h=10m`
so `l=(r^2+h^2)^(1/2)`
`l=149^(1/2)`
so curved surface area of tent`=pirl`
`=(22/7)xx7xx149^(1/2)`
and it is equal to area of canvas so
