A vessel is filled with a gas at a pressure of 76 cm of mercury at a certain temperature. The mass of the gas is increased by 50% by introducing more gas in the vessel at the same temperature. Find the resultant pressure of the gas.

According kinetic theory of gases, pressure exerted
by a gas is `P=(1)/(3)(V_("rms"))^(2)`
Given, temperature is constant so `v_("rms")` is constant and V is constant `therefore P prop m`
`(P_(2))/(P_(1))=(m_(2))/(m_(1)) : (p_(2))/(76)=(m_(1)+(50)/(100)m_(1))/(m_(1))=(3)/(2)`
`P_(2)=(3)/(2)xx76=114cm` of Hg
