A coin is tossed 500 times with the following frequencies of two outcomes: Head: 240 times. tail: 260 times. Find the probability of occurrence of each of these events.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Total outcomes=`500`
1)P(getting a head)=`"number of heads/total outcomes"`
`=240/500=12/25`
2) P(getting a tail)=`"number of tails/total outcomes"`
`=260/500=113/25`.
