Prove that the complex number ((3+2i)/(2...

Prove that the complex number `((3+2i)/(2-3i)) + ((3-2i)/(2+ 3i))` is purely real.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

we have `((3+2i)/(2-3i))+ ((3-2i)/(2+3i))= (3+2i)/(2-3i).(2+3i)/(2+3i)+ (2-3i)/(2-3i)`
`= ((6-6)+i(9+4))/(4-9i^(2))+ ((6-6)+i(-9-4))/(4-9i)`
`((13i)/13)+ ((-13i)/13)=0 =0+0i` , which is purely real.
