The pressure of gas is increased 2 times. What should be the change in its volume so that the temperature and number of moles remains constant ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Applying Boyle's law
`P_(1)V_(1)=P_(2)V_(2)` . . (i)
`P_(2)=2P_(1)`
Substituting the values in equation (i)
`V_(2)=(V_(1))/(2)`
Hence, the volume reduced to half.
