A gas is filled in a vessel at a certain temperature and at a pressure of `80 cm` of Hg. At the same temperature, more gas is filled in the vessel so that its mean increases by `60%`. Determine the resultant in the vessel.

`P=(1)/(3)(M)/(v)overline(v^(2))`
At constant temperature the value of `overline(v^(2))` remains constant. Then, if V is constant we have
`P propM`
On increasing the mass of the gas by 60%, the pressure will also increase by 60%. Hence, the final pressure of the gas is
`80cm+(80xx(60)/(100))cm=128cm` (of mercury)
