The correct Answer is:
D

In the human eye, there are three types of cones which posses, their own characteristic photopigments that respond to red, green and blue lights. The sensations of different colours are produced by various combination of these cones and their photopigments. when these cones are stimulated equally a sensation of white light is produced. The daylight photopic vision and colour vision are functions of the rods.

Assertion : In the human eye, there are three types of rods which possess their own characteristic photopigments that respond to red, green and blue lights. Reason : The sensations of different colour are produced by various combinations of these rods and their photopigments.

Human eye contains cone cells which respond to red green and blue light. When all of these cones Are stimulated equally then a sensation of ___ light is produced Select the option which fills the blank correctly.

Which of the following statements is false about cones? I. The daylight (photopic) vision and colour are function of cones II. In human eye, there are three types of cones having characteristic photopigments that respond to red, green and blue líght III. The sensations of different colours are produced by various combination of these 3 types of cones IV. When these 3 types of cones are stimulated equally, a sensation of white light is produced

The wall of the eye ball if composed of three layers. Which character is not related with eye ? i. At the retina yellowish pirmented spot called macula lutea ii. The ciliary body itself contines forward to form a pigment and opaque structure called the iris. iii. The twilight (scotopic) vision and colour vision are functions of cones and the daylight (photopic) vision is the function of the rods iv. The rods contain a purplish-red protein called the rhodopsin, which contains a derivative of vitamin-A v. In the human eye, there are three types of cones which possess their own characteristic photo pigments that respond to red, green and yellow lights. vi. Photoreceptor cells are not present in blind spot vii. The fovea is a thinned-out portion of the retina where only the rod cells are densely packed

Assertion : The focal length of lens does not change when red light is replaced by blue light. Reason : The focal length of lens does not depends on colour of light used.

Assertion : The focal length of the lens does not change when red light is replaced by blue light. Reason : The focal length of lens does not depends on colour of light used.

Assertion : Cones of retina help in colour vision. Reason : Different types of cones are stimulated by different radiations of the visible light.

Read the following text and answer the following questions on the basis of the same: Light Emitting Diode: It is a heavily doped p-n junction which under forward bias emits spontaneous radiation. The diode is encapsulated with a transparent cover so that emitted light can come out. When the diode is forward biased, electrons are sent from n to p (where they are minority carriers) and holes are sent from p to n(where they are minority carriers). At the junction boundary, the concentration of minority carriers increases as compared to the equilibrium concentration (i.e., when there is no bias). Thus at the junction boundary on either side of the junction, excess minority carriers are there which recombine with majority carriers near the junction. On recombination, the energy is released in the form of photons. Photons with energy equal to or slightly less than the band gap are emitted. When the forward current of the diode is small, the intensity of light emitted is small. As the forward current increases, intensity of light increases and reaches a maximum. Further increase in the forward current results in decrease of light intensity. LED's are biased such that the light emitting efficiency is maximum. The V-I characteristics of a LED is similar to that of a Si junction diode. But, the threshold voltages are much higher and slightly different for each colour. The reverse breakdown voltages of LED's are very low, typically around 5 V. So care should be taken that high reverse voltages do not appear across them. LED's that can emit red, yellow, orange, green and blue light are commercially available. During recombination at the junction, emitted photons have:

In an experiment, Pooja used a equilateral triangular glass prism and projected a narrow beam of white light source from one side of the surface of the prism. She placed a screen on the other side and saw many colours appearing as patches on the screen. But when she used a red light source, she could only see a red patch on the screen. Similarly she used a blue and green light source and could only see one colour patch on both occasions. The reason why she could no see any other colour when the red light was used was because:
