Let A={1,2},\ B={3,6} and f: A->B given ...

Let `A={1,2},\ B={3,6}` and `f: A->B` given by `f(x)=x^2+2\ and\ g: A->B` given by `g(x)=3x` . Verify `f = g` .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

To verify this we have to show two points
1) domain of (f)=domain of (g) and range of (f)=range of (g)
2) `f(x)=g(x)` for all x in domain
As `f: A->B` and `g: A->B` so first condition is satisfied
Also` f(1)=3=g(1)`
`f(2)=6=g(2)`
thus we can say that` f=g`
