Prove that `3(sinx-cosx)^4+4(sin^6x+cos^6x)+6(sinx+cosx)^2=13`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`4(sin^6x+cos^6x)`
`=4[(sin^2x)^3+(cos^2x)^3]`
`=4[(sin^2x+cos^2x)(sin^4x−sin^2xcos^2x+cos^4x)]`
`=4[(sin^2x+cos^2x)^2−2sin^2xcos^2x−2sin^2xcos^2x]`
`=4[1−3sin^2xcos^2x]`
`=4−12sin^2xcos^2x ........(1)`
Now,
`6[sinx+cosx]^2`
