The equation of straight line passing th...

The equation of straight line passing through (-2,-7) and having an intercept of length 3 .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Slope intercept form is, `y=mx+c` where `m` is the slope and `c` is the y- intercept.
`therefore -7=m(-2)+3`
`implies 2m=10`
`implies m=5`
Thus, required equation is `y=5x+3 `, i.e. `5x-y+3=0`.
