Determine the distance between the following pair of parallel lines:`\ 4x+3y-11=0\ a n d\ 8x+6y=15.`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The given parallel lines can be written as `4x + 3y − 11 = 0 …` (1)
`4x + 3y − 152 = 0 … `(2)
Let d be the distance between the given lines.
`=> d =(−11+15/2)/sqrt(4^2+3^2)`
= 7/10 units Hence, distance between givens parallel line is `7/10` units
