If `f(x)=x sin(1/x), x!=0` then `lim_(x->0)f(x)=` a. 1 b . -1 c. 0 d. does not exist

Text Solution

`lim_(x->0)f(x)=lim_(x->0)x sin(1/x), x!=0`
L.H.L= `lim_(x->0^-)f(x)=lim_(x->0^-)x sin(1/x)`
Here `x to 0^-` mean `x=0-h`, and `h to 0`
Then
`=lim_(h to 0) f(0-h)`
`=lim_(h to 0) -h sin(1/(-h))`
`=0`
R.H.L= `lim_(x->0^+)f(x)=lim_(x->0^+)x sin(1/x)`
