Tickets numbered from 1 to 20 re mixed up together and then a ticket is drawn at random. What is the probability that the ticket has a number which is a multiple of 3 or 7?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Since, total tickets `= 20`
Multiples of 3 or 7 from `1` to `20` are:
`3,6,7,9,12,14,15,18`
∴ favorable outcomes=8
∴ required probability `= 8/(20)=2/5`
