Given two mutually exclusive events A and B such that `P(A)=1//2` and `P(B)=1//3` , find `P(A\ or\ B)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given two events are mutually exclusive events
so we know that when two events are mutually exclusive events then
`P (A ∪ B) = P (A) + P (B) `
`= 1/2 + 1/3 = 5/6 `
`∴ P (A ∪ B) = 5/6`
