When the white light passes from a rarer medium to a danser medium (or vice versa) deviates from its original path. Moreover red light is deviated the least and violet light the most. The deviation of the remaining constituent colours decreases from violet to red. hence, the figure (3) gives correctly the dispersion of white light.
