Which out of the four plant cells `(P,Q,R "and" S)` would not exhibit any wall pressure?

A

`P`and `Q`

B

`Q`and `S`

C

`P`and`R`

D

`R` and `S`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
C

Wall pressure is equal and opposite pressure of the cell wall against the cell content to the turgor pressure. In the given figure. Cell walls of cells Q and S generate resistance against the expanding protoplasm as they are shown to be fully trugid cells. But cells P and R are shown to be in the stage of plasmolysis, hence these cells would not exhibit any wall pressure.

Which of the following plant cell is not surrounded by cell wall?

When water moves out of the plant cell and the cell membrane of a plant shrinks away from its cell wall then this condition is known as

Assertion : To countract the increases in turgour pressure in plant cells, the cell wall produces an equal and opposite pressure, i.e. , wall pressure . Reason : When plant cells undergo endomosis, they swell but do not burst.

In the following items, each passage consists of six sentences. The first and the sixth sentence are given in the beginning as S_(1) and S_(6) . The middle four sentences in each have been removed and jumbled up. These are labelled P, Q, R and S. You are required to find out the proper sequence of the four sentences and mark accordingly on the Answer Sheet. S_(1) : Get hold of the catalogues of the colleges in the United States. S_(6) : They all aim at the first rate. P : I think there is a common feature and that every course given has a similar aim. Q : Is there any common feature in these coures ? R : You will find courses in innumerable subjects. S : Is there any aim which all of them have ? The proper sequence should be : (a) R-Q-S-P (b) P-Q-R-S (c) R-Q-P-S (d) P-R-S-Q
