Continued inbreeding reduces fertility and productivity. This is called inbreeding depression. This problem can be overcome by out-crossing. Out-crossing is the practice of mating of animals within the same of their pedigree upto `4-6` generations. The offspring of such a malting is known as out-cross. A single outcross often helps to overcome inbreeding depression.
