Let `R` be a relation on the set `N` given by `R={(a ,\ b): a=b-2,\ b >6}dot` Then, `(2,\ 4) in R` (b) `(3,\ 8) in R` (c) `(6,\ 8) in R` (d) `(8,\ 7) in R`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
c) `(6,8) in R`

`{R}={(a, b): a=b-2, b>6}`

Now, since `b gt 6`,but `4 lt 6`,
`therefore (2,4) notin R `

Also, as `3 equiv 8-2`,but ` b gt 6 `is must component
`therefore(3,8) notin R`.

And, as `8 equiv 7-2`
`(8,7) notin {R}`
Now, consider `(6,8)`.
