Given that,
`2[(1, 3),( 0,x)]+[(y,0),( 1, 2)]=[(5, 6),( 1 ,8)]`

`[(2, 6),( 0,2x)]+[(y,0),( 1, 2)]=[(5, 6),( 1 ,8)]`

`[(2+y, 6),( 1,2x+2)]=[(5, 6),( 1 ,8)]`

Equating both sides to find variables `x` and `y`,
`2+y=5`
`y=3`
