Determine the values of x for which f(x)...

Determine the values of `x` for which `f(x)=(x-2)/(x+2),\ \ x!=-1` is increasing or decreasing.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given, `f(x)=(x-2)/(x+2),\ \ x!=-1`
Since `f’ (x) = 3 / [x + 1]^2 `is greater than 0 in interval (- ∞, ∞), therefore` f (x) = [x – 2] / [ x + 1]` is increasing in interval (- ∞, ∞) or R.
