A ball of mass 1 kg is projected horizon...

A ball of mass `1 kg` is projected horizontally as shown in figure. Assume that collision between the ball and ground is totally inelastic. The kinetic energy of ball in joulesy just collision is found to be `10prop`. Find the value of `alpha`.

The correct Answer is:
`50 J`

vertical velocity just before collision `v_(y) = sqrt(2gh) = sqrt(2 xx 10 xx 5) = 10 m//s`

`rArr` Kinetic energy of ball just after collision `= (1)/(2) xx 1 xx 10^(2) = 50 J`
