Determine the order and degree of each of the following differential equation. State also whether they are linear or non-linear: `2(d^2y)/(dx^2)+3\ sqrt(1-((dy)/(dx))^2-y)=0`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

We have given
`2(d^2y)/(dx^2)+3\ sqrt(1-((dy)/(dx))^2-y)=0`
Rewrite equation
`2(d^2y)/(dx^2)=-3\ sqrt(1-((dy)/(dx))^2-y)`
Take square on both side
`4((d^2y)/(dx^2))^2=9(1-((dy)/(dx))^2-y)`
`4((d^2y)/(dx^2))^2-9+9((dy)/(dx))^2+9y`
Here the highest order of derivative is two.
