If P(A)=0. 4 ,\ P(B)=0. 3\ a n d\ P(B//A...

If `P(A)=0. 4 ,\ P(B)=0. 3\ a n d\ P(B//A)=0. 5 ,` find `P(AnnB)\ a n d\ P(A//B)dot`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

We have, `P(A)=0.4, P(B)=0.3` and `P(A cup B)=0.5`
`text { Now } P(A cup B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A cap B) `
`Rightarrow P(A cap B)=0.4+0.3-0.5=0.2 `
`therefore P(B^{prime} cap A)=P(A)-P(A cap B)=0.4-0.2=0.2=frac{1}{5}`
