4m + 3n = 18, 3m-2n = 5...

`4m + 3n = 18, 3m-2n = 5`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`4m+3n = 18=>2(4m+3n = 18) => 8m + 6n = 36->(1)`
`3m-2n = 5=>3(3m-2n = 5) => 9m-6n = 15->(2)`
Now, adding (1) and (2),
`=>8m+6n+9m-6n = 36+15`
`=>17m = 51`
`=> m = 3`
Putting `m = 3` in (1),
`8(3)+6n = 36`
