Equation of line BA is `x+y=1`. Find a unit vector along the reflected ray AC.

A

`((hat(i)+hat(j)))/sqrt(2)`

B

`((hat(i)-hat(j)))/sqrt(2)`

C

`sqrt(2)(hat(i)+hat(j))`

D

None

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
A

Here `alpha=45^(@)` so inclination of AC with x-axis is `45^(@)`. So unit velocity along AC
`=cos 45^(@) hat(i) + sin 45^(@)hat(j)=(hat(i)+hat(j))/sqrt(2)`
